Welcome to Vindafjord and Vikedal. 
In the happy community of Vindafjord we make
our living from the land and the woods. We also have industry, commerce and service
branches. Vindafjord is well known for its beautiful and evolving nature, and it invites
you to outdoor activities in the mountains and at the fjord and by the river. Salmon
fishing in the Vikedal River is the most famous one.
All of our five villages: Imsland, Vikedal, Sandeid, Vats and Skjold
are situated seaside, and the interest for boating there is high- with guests harbour all
wishing you very welcome. For those interested in mountain trips there are marked walking
trails in beautiful surroundings. All over community there are a lots of places you can
take a swim, and it is possible to fish in the fjord as well in the lakes.
When it comes to attractions
we have to mention two wooden houses and
the church in Imslandsjøen, Kalvelandskverna, Låkafossen – 7 km. from Vikedal,
Bydgamuseum, in Vikedal, Stuhaug Gardsmuseum, churchyards in Sandeid, Skjold, and Vikedal
from the medevels, "Galleri"; an art exhibition in Sandeid. There are good
accommodations – guesthouse, bed and breakfast, cottages and camping-sites.
In these surroundings in the village Vikedal, 60 km., east of
Haugesund, we wish you welcome to our second "Roots festival", with an exciting
meeting with artist from both Norway and other parts of the world. In our big circus tent
we will make sure that our audience will have a really nice time and make you acquaintance
with "roots music", and with the Vikedal as a village that have a lots of
possibilities.
